About ETO
ETO has been active in Tharaka since 1990 and in that time has provided seven schools which currently educate and feed over 3000 children. All of the children who have been educated by ETO are now fully employed, some of them as teachers now working for ETO. Others are in the government, police and army and some work for the office of President Kibaki. In addition to the extensive building which has taken place, important changes to the infrastructure are now underway, including the completion of a dam and some additions to the wells, complete with a solar powered electricity supply. We have also completed the first phaze of a water treatment plant, with the financial asistance of the Italian Government
The rains have failed again in Kenya this year and a state of famine exists, so the Feeding Program is a high priority.
