Relief food project.

After three years of insufficent rains in Tharaka, there has been a severe famine, with many people dying from starvation. Even though we at ETO are feeding our children, some of the mothers have died.

So we have decided to have a relief food program, whereby we will buy food cheaply, when it becomes available, and distribute it cheaply or freely to the starving peoples, as needs must!

At present a bag of maize is costing around £25 in Kenya, normal price around £20, beans are costing over £30 per bag, instead of the usual £20.

The rains fail quite often in Tharaka! so this is a recurring problem, which we need to address.

Water project.

We are undertaking a huge project to supply clean water ( which is life), to our new boarding school and the people of the area around Runguu, where the school is built.

We intend to pump the water from a river which is about 3 kilometers away. (this river never runs dry) We will have to pipe the water, so we need a powerful pump to draw the water from the river, and another smaller pump to pump it through the pipes to the school. We will also need to build storage tanks and a filter unit and houses for the equipment.

The large pump will cost around £1600, and the smaller one around £1200, we need over 450 pipes, costing about £3000, and the filter unit and storage tanks about £5000

Approx total including labour costs,  £18000............. HELP!

SUMMER RAIN

Nov09.jpg (105766 bytes)CFC Worship leaders have made a fantastic CD, featuring such wonderful worship leaders as Robin Mark, Marie Lacey, Brian Houston and many others.

The CD is the brainchild of Terry Koch, the main artist, also another wonderful worship leader from CFC.

When Terry was on a trip to Kenya, the Lord inspired him to write some songs and produce a CD to raise funds for a special project!

THE PROJECT

To purchase six acres of good land, near a river so that ETO could produce enough food crops to helpNov10.jpg (96373 bytes) feed all the children at the new boarding school in Ruungu.

We stepped out in faith, and told Pastor Christopher Gicugu, the head Pastor of ETO in Kenya, to buy the land.  We bought the land!  GOD sold the CD's.....and we are already producing some food from the land.

1200 CDs were produced,  and some are still available on sale at CFC Standtown, Belfast, or by contacting ETO at the address given on our website!

SALE PRICE ONLY £10.    But hurry! only 180 remaining!
